Governor Sununu Nominates Top Department of Safety Personnel

CONCORD, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu announced that he will nominate Bob Quinn of Seabrook, New Hampshire, to serve as the next Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Safety, and Perry Plummer of Dover, New Hampshire, to serve as the next Assistant Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Safety.

Bob Quinn is currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Safety. Perry Plummer is currently serving as the Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

"I want to thank Governor Sununu for nominating Bob Quinn as Commissioner and Perry Plummer as Assistant Commissioner for the Department of Safety," said Commissioner John Barthelmes. "These dedicated professionals have spent their careers working tirelessly to meet the public safety needs of New Hampshire citizens. The Department of Safety will be well served by their leadership."

On Bob Quinn:

"I am deeply honored that Governor Sununu has placed his faith and trust in me to lead the Department of Safety," said Bob Quinn. "I am both humbled and proud to have worked under the leadership of Commissioner John Barthelmes, along with the finest men and women in public safety for over 34 years. I am committed to ensuring that the Department of Safety continues to work with all partners to ensure that New Hampshire remains as one of the safest states in the Unites States."

"New Hampshire will be in good hands with Bob Quinn leading the Department of Safety," said Governor Chris Sununu. "As the current Assistant Commissioner and former Colonel of the New Hampshire State Police, Bob serves on the front-lines and understands what it takes to oversee this vitally important Department. I am looking forward to working with him so that we can continue to ensure that the Department of Safety remains a world-class organization."

On Perry Plummer:

"It's a great honor to be nominated as an Assistant Commissioner for the Department of Safety," said Perry Plummer. "I am excited to bring a Homeland Security and fire service background to the leadership team.

"From spear-heading the School Safety Taskforce to overseeing disaster relief and response, Perry works 24/7, 365 days a year to keep the Granite Staters safe," said Governor Chris Sununu. "I am confident he will carry that same work ethic and dedication into his new role."

Note: Following the nomination at the March 13th Executive Council meeting, a confirmation vote will likely take place at thje March 27th Executive Council meeting.
