Governor Sununu Applauds House for Strengthening Laws Preventing Child Marriage

Concord, NH - Today, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement after the House voted to pass HB 1587, relative to the minimum age for marriage:

"Virtually everyone agrees that the marriage of a 13-year-old child is unconscionable," said Governor Chris Sununu. "I commend the House of Representatives for passing HB 1587 – which will take action to prevent child marriage – and call on the Senate to get this critical piece of legislation to my desk."
