Governor Chris Sununu Statement on Joint Health Care Reform Oversight Committee Hearing

Concord, NH – Today following the hearing of the Joint Health Care Reform Oversight Committee, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement:

"Granite Staters have been thrust unwillingly into the turmoil of America’s healthcare system, and are now facing premium increases as large as 45% in the individual market. While I support using a 1332 waiver as a tool to bring some level of stability to the individual market, I am not convinced that an assessment that would be passed on to consumers across all insurance markets is the right approach. I have charged the Department of Insurance to address this concern so that other solutions may be considered. Now is the time for all sides to come together with good ideas so that we can find a proposal that will work for New Hampshire."
