Governor Chris Sununu Statement on HB 317

Concord, NH - Concord, NH Today, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement on HB 317, prohibiting the public utilities commission from increasing the system benefits charge without legislative approval:

"New Hampshire's energy customers pay some of the highest electricity rates in the United States," said Governor Chris Sununu. "This bill will ensure that any proposed increase in the System Benefits Charge will be subject to legislative approval and is in the best interest of the people and businesses of New Hampshire. I applaud the House of Representatives on the passage of HB 317 today, and I hope the legislature continues to support policies aimed at easing the burden on New Hampshire's overstrained ratepayers."
