Governor Chris Sununu Statement on HB 1228

Concord, NH -Today, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement on HB 1228, removing the limitation on a chartered public school incurring long term debt:

"New Hampshire charter schools have proven themselves to be an integral part of our state's high-quality public education system for thousands of students," said Governor Chris Sununu. "Today, New Hampshire joined over thirty other states across the nation in allowing their public charter schools to finance facility space of their own in order to control their long-term costs and allocate more of their operating dollars to their teachers, programs and students while protecting the state from liability. HB1228 makes good economic sense for New Hampshire charter schools and our state."
