Governor Chris Sununu To Nominate Pat Conway for Superior Court

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu announced that he will nominate Rockingham County Attorney Pat Conway to serve as a Superior Court Judge. The nomination will be made at tomorrow’s March 24th, 2021 Executive Council Meeting.

“Pat Conway is a well respected, hard-working Prosecutor,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “During her years of service as Rockingham County Attorney and as an Assistant County Attorney, Pat litigated countless cases before the Superior Court and has the experience needed for this critical role. She will make an exceptional judge.”

“I am both honored and humbled that Governor Sununu has nominated me for a Superior Court judgeship position,” said Pat Conway. “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to continue my work in public service as a judge. If confirmed, I pledge to be fair, impartial, thoughtful and hardworking in fulfilling the important duties and responsibilities of a judge.”

Governor Sununu’s bipartisan Judicial Selection Commission recommended Pat Conway for the Superior Court and brought their recommendation to Governor Sununu.

Should Pat Conway earn confirmation from the Executive Council, members of the Rockingham County Convention would fill her vacancy per RSA 661:9, which states, “if a vacancy for a period of one year or longer occurs in the office of county sheriff, county attorney, register of deeds, or county treasurer, the members of the county convention shall fill the vacancy for the unexpired term by a majority of the ballots cast. If a vacancy for a period of less than a year occurs in any such office, the members of the county convention shall, by majority vote of the county convention, vote to either fill the vacancy or to leave the office vacant.”
