Governor Chris Sununu to Nominate Lori Shibinette as Next Health and Human Services Commissioner

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu announced that he will nominate Lori Shibinette of Northfield, New Hampshire, to serve as the next Commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services. The nomination will take place at the December 18, 2019, Executive Council Meeting.
 
Lori Shibinette is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of New Hampshire Hospital. She previously served as a Deputy Commissioner at the Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to State service, Lori served as the CEO of the Merrimack County Nursing Home and as their Director of Clinical Services. A registered and trained Nurse, Lori has extensive experience on the front lines of health care.
 
“Lori Shibinette’s unmatched operational experience will allow her to hit the ground running,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “Our strong economy has provided New Hampshire with the opportunity to create robust programs that need Lori’s expertise to ensure better outcomes for individuals. Lori is a manager and has the ability to effectively oversee these programs to get the job done.”

Note: Following the nomination at the December 18th Executive Council meeting, a confirmation vote will likely take place at the January 8, 2020, Executive Council meeting.
