Governor Chris Sununu Accepts AARP Capitol Caregiver Award

Concord, NH - Today, Governor Chris Sununu was recognized by The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) for his support in advocating for family caregivers in New Hampshire.

"I am truly humbled," said Governor Chris Sununu. "The AARP does important work advocating for New Hampshire's vibrant retired community, and I am honored to be one of five governors across the country to receive this award. My administration is committed to advocating for policies that promote New Hampshire's seniors and their caregivers."

"AARP thanks Governor Sununu for championing the Uniform Power of Attorney Act in 2017," said AARP New Hampshire State Director Todd Fahey. "Governor Sununu was also instrumental in passing rate increases for important home - and community - based services. These services will help maintain vital services that allow aging Granite Staters and those with disabilities to stay home and age in their communities."

Governor Sununu is one of five governors nationwide being honored by AARP in this year's class of Capitol Caregivers. Senator Sharon Carson and Representative Janet Wall were part of a group of 91 state legislators across the country to receive this award.
