CONCORD - Gov. John Lynch today said the state will continue to work with auto dealers and the workers who will be laid off as the result of the announcement that six Chrysler dealerships in the state will be closed.
The state and its Rapid Response team have already been working with dealerships in anticipation of the closing announcement.
“The state has been working with the auto dealers in anticipation of the closing of several dealerships in New Hampshire. As the auto industry goes through these difficult economic times, and manufacturers close dealerships, it is important that we continue to working to help auto dealers and their employees and customers,” Gov. Lynch said. “This is a very difficult time for the workers and their families and New Hampshire state government is committed to helping them through these difficult times.
Last week, Gov. Lynch signed a fast-tracked bill (SB 153) aimed at helping auto dealers and their employees when auto manufacturers close dealerships. The legislation also helps to protect customers by allowing local dealers to continue servicing their vehicles.
