CONCORD - In response to the announcement that the federal Department of Transportation (DOT) is making an Emergency Relief grant of $1 million to New Hampshire for the damage in Cheshire, Grafton and Sullivan counties from heavy rains and flooding that began on June 26, Governor Hassan issued the following statement:
"The severe rain and flooding between June 26 and July 3 caused widespread damage in Cheshire, Grafton and Sullivan counties, especially to local roads and bridges. This Emergency Relief grant is critical to supporting our recovery efforts and to replenishing state and local resources as communities continue to recover and repair the damage. I thank Secretary Anthony Foxx and DOT for approving this grant as well as New Hampshire's Congressional Delegation for their work to help secure these important funds."
