CONCORD – Governor Maggie Hassan has directed flags lowered to half-staff in New Hampshire on Monday, May 27, until noon and all day on Thursday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day.
"Every year on Memorial Day, we come together to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live in peace," Governor Hassan said. "Our debt to our fallen is as old and as great as this nation. I join all of the citizens of the Granite State in honoring our fallen heroes, their families and all of our veterans who have sacrificed so much for us."
Governor Hassan has also issued a proclamation declaring Thursday, May 30, 2013, Memorial Day in the State of New Hampshire. The Governor will be participating in the Exeter and Manchester Memorial Day Parades on Monday, and on Thursday will address the Memorial Day Ceremony at the State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
