CONCORD – Governor Maggie Hassan released the following statement praising Senate passage of SB1, a bill to double the state's research and development tax credit and extend it permanently, a key component of the Governor's "Innovate NH" jobs plan:
"Today, the Senate sent a strong, bipartisan message that New Hampshire is a state that welcomes innovation. Doubling the R&D tax credit will encourage more businesses to invest in developing new technologies, which will help them grow and create jobs. And extending the tax credit permanently will add predictability to the process, allowing businesses who might use the credit in the future to better plan ahead. This measure is a significant step forward in our efforts to attract new businesses, support our existing companies, and keep New Hampshire a leader in the innovation economy. I applaud members of the Senate from both parties for their action, and I look forward to working with the House to quickly enact this important priority."
