Governor Lynch Statement Regarding Senate's Education Funding Constitutional Amendment

CONCORD – Governor John Lynch today released the following statement regarding the Senate Internal Affairs Committee's vote to recommend passage of an education funding constitutional amendment:

"I want to thank the committee for its very positive work in developing this amendment.

"On its face, this amendment appears to accomplish the goals of affirming the state's responsibility for education, and providing the flexibility we need to effectively target aid to the communities and the children who need it the most.

"I look forward to continuing to work with the legislature in crafting a bipartisan amendment dealing with education funding."
