Governor and Council Approve New Round of Funding for Green Launching Pad
Federal Energy Stimulus Funds Will Be Used to Help Additional Innovative New Hampshire Companies Bring Products to Market, Create Jobs
CONCORD – Governor John Lynch and the Executive Council today approved an agreement to use an additional $750,000 in federal energy stimulus funds for the Green Launching Pad, which will be used to help additional companies bring their green energy products to market.
The partnership between the state and the University of New Hampshire was launched earlier this year. In January, the Governor and Council approved the initial $750,000 in federal energy stimulus funds for the launch of the Green Launching Pad. Currently, five companies are receiving intensive support through this innovative partnership.
"As Governor, my top priorities are getting people back to work and making wise investments in our people and our economy. Clean energy holds great potential for bringing new jobs to our state and there are companies all across New Hampshire developing new products with tremendous promise, but they need help bringing their products to market," Governor Lynch said. "That is why the Green Launching Pad is so important. This partnership is putting the university's vast expertise to work helping innovative companies grow and create jobs."
"I am pleased we were able to secure additional funding to help more companies and create the jobs of the future now, right here in New Hampshire," Governor Lynch said.
Governor Lynch announced the creation of the Green Launching Pad in his State of the State Address in January.
The Green Launching pad is currently excepting proposals. For more information, visit http://www.greenlaunchingpad.org/.
