Governor Names Amy Ignatius of Concord Director of Office of Energy and Planning
"New Hampshire's economy is strong and poised to grow stronger in the coming months. However, to ensure long-term economic success, we must confront two growing challenges - the harmful impact of skyrocketing energy prices on our citizens and businesses and making sure that New Hampshire grows in a way that its unique character while meeting the needs of our citizens in such areas as workforce housing," Governor Lynch said.
"Amy Ignatius brings the wealth of expertise on issues, experience in state government, and leadership abilities necessary to ensure that the Office of Energy and Planning works effective with the Governor's Office, with the legislature, with local communities, citizens, and the business community to help address these challenges," Governor Lynch said.
Since 2003, Ignatius has served as general counsel of the Public Utilities Commission, a position she also held from 1991 to 1998. From 1998 to 2003, Ignatius was the executive director of the New England Conference of Public Utilities Commissioners. She worked as an attorney for Devine, Millimet and Branch from 1988 to 1991. She worked for the New Hampshire Department of Justice from 1982 to 1988, where she served for two years as the Bureau Chief for the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau.
She received her bachelor's degree from the University Wisconsin in 1977 and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1982.
